The Story Behind "Jawaxa Ethnics"

Born Into the World of Weaving

By the age of 9, he had already stepped into the saree-making process, helping with the craft that defined our family for generations.

My father was born in 1964 in Anthiyur, Erode district, into a traditional weaver’s family

His childhood was spent surrounded by the rhythmic sounds of handlooms, waking up each day in a home filled with threads, fabrics, and weaving artistry.

Becoming a Master Weaver

In his early 20s, under the guidance of his father, he learned to weave sarees on his own. With time, he refined his skills and became a true master of the craft.

Seeking better opportunities, he moved to Salem city after marriage and established himself as a saree designer.

His ability to visualize intricate patterns and translate them into fabric made him highly sought-after, earning him a reputation as one of the best designers in town.

The Rise of a Renowned Saree Designer

His hard work and passion as a saree designer earned him both fame and financial success over the years.

With his growing reputation, he built a team of 10-15 skilled artisans who worked under his guidance, His creativity and attention to detail attracted hundreds of clients, including local traders and well-known saree businesses.

Through his dedication, he became a highly respected and sought-after designer in the industry.

Facing the Changing Times

In the early 2000s, the industry shifted with the introduction of computer-aided saree designing.

Lacking technical knowledge, my father lost his job as a designer. However, his passion for sarees never faded.

He adapted by shifting to different aspects of the saree-making process, mastering them over the years and continuing to contribute to the craft he loved.

A Legacy That Lives On

My mother, also from a family of weavers, shared the same deep passion for textiles as my father.

For years, they worked together, dedicating their lives to preserving the art of weaving and creating beautiful sarees.

Their combined skills kept the craft alive, sustaining a rich tradition. Their journey continued until my father passed away in his late 50s, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and craftsmanship.

From Generations to You: The Story of Jawaxa Ethnics

After working in various fields, I realized nothing felt truly meaningful until I returned to my roots to the art and legacy that shaped my family’s life.
